Mary Beth is a Texas-based License Marriage and Family Therapist as well as a Licensed Professional Counselor. She has been in private practice in the Austin area since 2013 and worked as a counselor for Baylor Scott & White Health and the Department of Defense prior to that. She entered the profession in her 40’s as a transition from being a stay-home mom for about a decade, and she had a career in professional sales and college teaching before becoming a mother of triplets-plus-one. Married for over 30 years, she and her husband have navigated many of life’s twists and turns, and so she brings a depth of marriage and parenting experience to the counseling room. Having counseled many active-duty soldiers and their families at Fort Hood, she also has unique experience with families who must adjust to periods of separation, and the ups and downs of entry and re-entry into each other’s lives, and the challenges that often brings. In her private practice, she has also worked with some individuals and families who are connected with the music industry and the touring life. Mary Beth’s specialties and trainings have included the following modalities and topics: Emotionally Focused Couple’s Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Couple’s Affair Recovery, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Depression and Anxiety, Recovery for Compassion Fatigue/Burn-Out, Grief and Loss Recovery, and Life Transitions. She uses an integrative approach that focuses on a non-judgmental stance, an attachment-focused therapeutic relationship, and experiential practice as a part of the sessions.
